As noted by anchor Martin Savidge, tuberculosis does not get enough media attention. The disease kills some two million people a year. In 2008 more than 9.4 million cases were reported by the World Health Organization. And, the disease is on the increase. South Africa has the highest incidence of TB. There is a growing threat from multi-drug resistant TB, an aggressive strain that is much more difficult to treat. The report includes interviews with Dr. Marcos Espinal, Executive Secretary of the Stop TB Partnership and Craig David, Stop TB Ambassador.
