These Jets Uniforms were just plain HIDEOUS! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad they went back to their original "JOE NAMATH" style uniforms in 1998. And have kept them that way ever since. And I'm a Raiders fan.
I just watched the 9ers-Saints game last nite, entertaining but still, i miss this classic football and the simplicity of the uniforms, the broadcasters whose voices u grew up as a child listening to, players dedicated to their teams instead of the almighty dollar and how football wasnt as exploited as it is now with even women tossing back a case of beer using football as an excuse to be belligerent
Tony Eason! UGH!!! I guy that was just happy to get his pay as long as he didn't get hit!!! But Yeah I was at that game against Phil. Tom Ramsey made (for the time) a great 4th qtr comeback with 3 TD's in an 8 1/2 minute span. Then the PATS got the ball back on a fumble recovery with a chance to win it in regulation with a FG att. but Phil called timeout. Tony Franklin missed a 37 yd'er.
Missed these old jerseys in this clip. Glad they're wearing them THIS YEAR!!!
Holy crap!!!! I was at that game...the Eagles right? Tom Ramsey was unbelievable in that game. Me and my dad left midway through the 3rd quarter and listened on the radio as they made the big comeback...by the time we got home, it was in OT and Franklin missed a gimme chip shot and the Pats lost...so appropriate for the era which was about to come for this team over the next 6 seasons. By the way, isn't it painful to watch the mechanics of Tony Eason? This guy had no confidence.
Tony Franklin kicked himself out of a job that year.... saw him against Phil 2 Foxboro.... missed 2 fg's (one with a chance to win in regulation) and missed another one in OT... ruined a great comeback led by Tom Ramsey #12. I wonder who wears his jersey number now?
