Eugene McCune averaged nearly 280 to break the 7-year old PBA 9-game scoring record. McCune leads a field of 5 players for the taping of the Brunswick Pro Bowling Cheetah Championship ESPN finals November 5 and 6 at South Point in Las Vegas. For more, visit pba.com.

I don't think the form is all that ugly, just different. And it takes a pretty solid game to play directly off of the gutter like that.

McCune "A" game is full kill rocket to the pocket, but his "B" game is just as impressive when conditions call for it. He can hook a ton of boards just as well. And as you can see from the rotations on the ball, he still gets a hand full on it. Pay attention to the plastic ball tournaments that are on the tour schedule, the elite players can still average over 220 in match play. How? They focus more on placement and speed control for that tourney. Ball technology is still second to skill.
