(the quality is better in smaller frame) as part of the O'Hare Airport Expansion several homes and businesses have been bought out and are now empty. Two very old cemeteries are also being moved. I'm not from this area but my friend in the video grew up there. For her the memories of all the friends and her old home, for me its all the trees that will be cut down...Bensenville, IL

  • Several?? More like 500 homes and 60 businesses, like 2,000 trees and 30 streets.

  • for sure so sad, and I haven't been around there in a while, I'm sure its not going anywhere fast. just unused land and an economy that can no longer afford an expansion i'm sure.

  • this is sad and disturbing, how far will this go. People are being basically ripped out of their homes all for money, what is the world coming to

  • it is sad, and even sadder to be there and drive thru it. i'm not sure what the status of things are now, but i think the airport hasn't moved much further with the expansion...not sure but maybe the sour economy will halt or delay the expansion. what a waste.

  • @iscorpio I'm gonna tell what is done so far. So far they demolish everything to the ground. There is no buildings, trees not even roads. Last week they start to set up some very tall steel beams next to the intersection of Irving Park rd and York Rd but I have no idea what that's gonna be.

  • @demon2701 oh wells seems as if they are moving forward. As the project eats up more land and money

  • jeez it really sucks and is sad as hell....

btw what was the song in the background?

  • i live right next to there my house was luckily in the area of not needing to be demolished

  • All for what they call progress. O'Hare can expand all the way to Texas and they still won't get flights out of there on time.

  • @hbk621 dude Bensenville is awesome I don't know what you have against it??

  • Lol as being someone who lived there it's not that bad at night

  • I remeber driving though there in like august of 09 and it was definatley spooky at 11 oclock, too bad to see all those homes go

  • I used to live here. and the factory that's you pass by in the video is where my Dad used to work but they had to move to a different building the name of the business is S&D Products. But the good news is that I herd that O'Hare ran out of money to do anything to Bensenville

  • i used to live there. it was very scary.
