If you want to ever know what it is like, Valentine is four months old. You can force your bird to ween sooner but after reading everything I believe it is in the best interest of the bird to get the most nutrition as possible, He is eating a full diet of bird seed, and fruit, plus I offer him what we eat(plain) Chicken yes chicken bird love chicken, vegetables, fresh fruit, eggs. I avoid meats unless he cries for it. Even though it might be cute for you bird to eat french fries I would only do it as a treat once in a great while Deep fried foods,are very unhealthy and dangerous. Valentine is my third cockatoo my last one past at the age of 72 years old. So remember this pet is for life, and like a child make sure he has a family member that loves him enough to care for him,

He is 3 years old now and in beautiful health. He still like the syringe to play with I squirk water at him with it. Hand feeding him like this has made him the most tame Bird I have ever owned or seen. He sleeps with me, Plays on the floor with two dogs and a cat. Which the cat is his best play buddy. He lays on top of the bird cage for hours. Not to mention he rools around lays on his back. This is a great bird. I feed him oatmeal at night warmed. He is the Best bird I ever owned,
