Spending the day at Cotton Patch Gold Mine in New London, NC with my father. We went through two quarter loads after classifying everything we ended up with eleven 5 gallon buckets of material. Found a little over two grams of gold along with some mercury. By the time we were finished the Cotton Patch had already closed so we could not turn in the mercury, I called today and they said to bring it in next time and they can dispose of it properly. Hope you enjoy the video any questions please feel free to ask. Here is a link to the Cotton Patch website www.cottonpatchgoldmine.com

  • We have been out there every weekend for the past 6 weeks, we really like it there the staff is nice and very knowledgable. The only problem I can think of is how they measure out the dirt when you buy dirt by the load. You can get a Full load, half load, and a quarter load. We always get a quarter load because it's usually about the size of a full load their method of measuring the loads are way off. I have seen people get full loads and it would be less dirt than our quarter load.

  • OK! Looking forward to seeing parts 2 and 3.

  • @indyme2 I am having a bit of trouble uploading parts two and three.

  • Whatever those pacifiers or sifters you do to start... Dose not seem right, it seems like your sifting out all your fine gold into the buckets. Don't you want to dump the dirt directly into the sluice box so you can catch the finer gold in the mats??

  • misleading thumbnail.

  • i want to do that and i want the author pretty rocks too

  • OOOOHH I SEE IT> COOL> I always wanted to do that, like the old west! How much does it cost?

  • im sleepy and depressed

  • Looks like a good setup and a mice easy place to work, especially if they bring you the dirt! I bet you could increase your production with that Earthquake vibrating classifier.

  • Over all, what did you think of Cotton Patch?
