This tutorials shows users how to generate new field variables like Cp and "Downforce per unit area" which add greatly to the understanding of where downforce and lift are being generated. In addition, this tutorial illustrates how to generate Cp graphs, and spanwise loading. The spanwise loading taking the previously shown Downforce variable and integrates this quantity over the section, sweeping this section along the span of the wing and generating a graph of the resultant load distribution.

  • Thanks Kevin ,I am trying to learn all I can about aero, I have an e36 M3 that I track,I just put a dual plane wing and a front splitter , would you like to see a picture?I would like to hear any comments you have about it, thanks

  • Sure, send some pictures. Quite often, the rear wing placement helps reduce drag by creating more attached flow on the rear glass. Front splitters are a nice way to gain some front end grip without much drag.

  • Sorry for my sloppy typing, the keyboard is under the desk and hard to type on.

  • I have observed many race cars at the track and im hoping that im on the right track, I wish I had a wind tunnel and all the knowledge and tools huh? thanks for your videos,I have learned a little :o)

  • I gained alot of speed now on the back straight at Watkins glen I gain 5 mph, but I lacked a little Df after I took the second wing of the rear, I adjusted it from 2 deg to 4 deg and it helped a little, I added the wicker bill recently and I am hoping I will be close to balanced fromt and rear now, while not having too much drag. This is all a guess and monkey see for me,I have only a little knowledge Of fliud dynamics.

  • Thank, I just sent you a video, I changed the rear wing from dula to single and wow, what a difference,I had alot of downforce but a bit too much drag with the dual plane, I am experimenting and guessing with what I have now.
