@lovarts really well said, thats exactly what i tought when i was in the forums. im getting this surgury next week i am really scared of course but not because of the complications the few people in the forums had...its just normal to be scared i guess.

Hi friends,
I had a discectomy two months back and i am doing qt well now. Almost no pain. I myslef am a physician and though my personal experience may help others. You may find may negative comments, reports of complications etc in forums. REMEMBER that is becuase only those who had some problems will only be coming back to these forums to detail it. The thousands who has a successful surgery moves on..so dont get disheartened. Ask your doc if u need any more details
bye
gud luck

I`m still in shit state half the time and still taking morphine. I`m better than I was though so that`s something.....
Yeah me too, still a few years later, if I bump it it bloody hurts. It feels like there`s jagged bits in there doesn`t it? lol The numb patches seem to even out ok though..

I feel no pain any more. I had a great doctor though.

I had a disc taken from my lower back, they used a bit of my hip to fuse it too, nasty thing to have to have done. I didn`t get much better either ! I`m still on morphine... Did you have to wear a neck brace or something afterwards?

Yep. Neckbrace for 6 to 8 weeks. Strangely it was my hip that hurt more after the operation.
