Cyprus is a paradise island of incomparable natural beauty, full of unique historical treasures. It lies in the clear blue waters of the Eastern Mediterranean, just 40 miles off the coast of Turkey, 60 miles from Syria and 250 miles from Egypt. After Sicily and Sardinia, it is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. North Cyprus provides a most hospitable welcome, with its friendly people, and its beautiful natural attractions, unspoilt, unpolluted and uncrowded. With miles of coastline and golden sands bathed in sunshine almost every day of the year. There is much of historical interest to reflect nine thousand years of history. Gothic churches rub shoulders with crusader castles, and ruined temples with British Colonial architecture in a fascinating blend of styles. The all-pervading sense of the past adds to the enchantment of the present to make an unforgettable holiday.
A wonderfull part of the mediteranean , stop fighting and enjoy your spectacular island before you die ...

@xxChanzxx i do not care how big your zone will be as long as the basic freedoms are there for all of us.we can make this island a paradise for all of us.if the english and the french with the germans and the russians can do it after loosing millions in 2 world wars,i am sure we can also.just remeber one sovreingnty, one identity, one nationality one cyprus for all.take care.

@xxChanzxx for the first time i can say that i liked what you wrote.i felt that there was a respect there and it felt good to be able to talk to another cypriot on the same level.there is not a big problem between the t/c and the g/c.i see it every day in shops like jumbo,a mega, mothercar in mcdonalds ,kfc and so on.sometime we get to talk and altough in some there is some bitterness they all agree to a just solution for the sake of our children and for cyprus.

@johnnywires3 Yes i would love to see peace on the island with no border and all cypriots living in harmony again. However, there is too much racism and hatred being passed down from the older generations to the youngers. I have greek friends myself, neither of us have ever argued about who did what..i would be disgusted if any of them said go back to where ur from..its easy for people to say they want harmony but then act in ways of the opposite. People have to rise above to create a solution.

@xxChanzxx so then you agree with me.you are wrong about makarios.in the end he saw that a independant cyprus was the best way forward.that is why the greek junta wanted to get rid of him.dont forget many greek cypriots fought against the greek coup.cyprus does have greeks and turks and others but in the end we are all cypriots.there can be a just solution to this island ,but not one that is made up of 2 countries.that is something that will never happen.one nationality one identity, one cyprus.

@johnnywires3 No i am not blind. In fact, before i made any judgements, i did my share of research. I didnt go off the opinions of anyone else. If u knew anything about the history of cyprus u would know that turks and greeks lived on the island peacefully TOGETHER. Britain, turkey and greece signed a treaty before the war started. Please tell me what makarios' intentions were? To wipe out the turkish cypriot race i believe? Turkey intervened to save its people. Its an island of turks AND greeks

@xxChanzxx you are blind man.i am a greek cypriot born in london.my roots also come from cyprus, actualy north cyprus near kyrenia.we all know what the fuck happend in cyprus and who was behind it.some t/c friends of mine agree.they also hate the turkish army and the settlers.you used to be about 80,000 and now you have about 300,000 settlers there.is that what you want re.we are mixing again and there is no problem.cyprus should and will be one again.if you cant see that then you are a fool.

@johnnywires3 I am cypriot you fassy, turkish cypriot. Funny how dumb people like yourself can't have a debate without chucking in the 'go back to where you came from' card...very original i must say. I was born and bred in london but ill one day move to north cyprus where my blood stems from. Dont ever tell me about where i come from because unlike a lot of people i know exactly who i am and what i represent. Go pick up a book. FOOL.
