My first reaction to bailouts is NO, NO, NO ! Yeah, privatizing profits and socializing losses smacks of corrupted socialism.
HOWEVER, comparing the automotive bailout to financial bailout there
was an interesting difference. The financial industry manufactures
debt. The auto industry manufactures cars, tangible things that take
tangible labor by tangible people. So in a sense it is real !

Still, any bailout indicates an industry managed by incompetence, evil or both and thus the management MUST be fired and banned from
management jobs based on their proven performance. No bonuses or golden parachutes. New management, new plan, new and more jobs.

Maybe to get cars built and sold. People need jobs that pay so they can buy the cars. OR ELSE. Or else, the automotive industry retools to produce electric buses, rail and mass transit on a scale unheard of. So that a ticket costs 25¢ and runs comprehensively city to suburbs. People will abandon car commuting in droves.

Or jobs that can be virtual home office should be, because the internet enables it. Take cars off the roads by the millions.

  • Interesting. I wrote congress they replied:

"Congress passed and the President signed into law H.R. 6, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, on December 19, 2007. Section 136 of this law established the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, a direct loan program intended to provide up to $25 billion for domestic auto manufacturers to retool existing facilities for the production of the high technology, fuel-efficient vehicles consumers were demanding."

  • I've recently seen a number of new houses with air-source heat pumps. A great idea, in my opinion, and speaking to people, it seems to work well! If you didn't know it's like reverse airconditioning connected to underfloor heating.

Also, a number of small businesses have their own 2 - 8 KW wind turbines which are connected to the mains supply so that if it's windy and the place is closed their electricity meter is running backwards!

  • I hope that battery electric vehicles DO catch on a lot more. If I could afford it I'd buy an Ampera/ Volt Series hybrid. I can't afford 2 cars and need the long range every month or so. Otherwise I'd go for a Nissan Leaf. Interchangeable battery packs are a good idea, but it seems a long way off....

  • Pay that money to people who stay home; Get rid of the End of the World by just by not using OIL. Boycott the Bible's prediction and save our planet from dooms day.

Magnetic fields are better then electricity. The UFOs work on that concept.

  • Why can't we have life line legislation.

The social security credit card at 1 % per annum. Thats right for every $100 you spend you only pay 1 per year to borrow it.

Magnetic Field Energy is the answer as well.

  • Great ways to stop our dependence on foriegn oil. It is a matter of time before A-Jad will block the Strait of Hormuz and OPEC decides to jack up prices, again.

    Great video! :)
