The intro that could be seen at the beginning of the pilot episode of short-lived X-Files spinoff "The Lone Gunmen", featuring our three geeky heroes. The show was never given a fair chance and (like so many other shows) was cancelled way before its time. This initial version of the intro does not feature the character Jimmy Bond, since he hadn't joined the cast yet.

This show is infamous for the plot of its pilot episode, which described a scenario which was eerily similar to the events of 9/11, which occured less than a year later.

  • @toddsmitts

Ok todd. Maybe you should just type into youtube "dean haglund"

  • @cancanbiker 9/11 is irrelevant. The show was cancelled months BEFORE that happened.

  • @toddsmitts

Exactly my point. The show ran before 9 11 not after. Fox obviously didn't want to run a conspiracy show after 9 11. The pilot episode was about a false flag attack on the WTC to increase weapon sales....

  • @cancanbiker Actually, the Lone Gunmen's entire run was in the spring of 2001, months before 9/11. In fact the plot of the pilot had badguys planning to fly an airliner by remote into a building, something that would've been unthinkable for a TV show to do just a few months later. Not all the badguys in Lone Gunmen episodes were the government. They had a couple of episodes with organized crime, one with an enforcer from an oil company, one with a survivalist poacher, etc.

  • @toddsmitts

That and probably all the anti government conspiracy stuff post 9 11. It was tolerated in the X files because it was usually about aliens and not 9 11 etc.

  • @ZkinandBonez Apparently, it actually did better, ratings-wise, than the X-Files did in its first season, but FOX wasn't so forgiving. The producers liked it, but said their mistake was making it too late after interest in the X-Files had peaked. They said if it had been made a few years earlier, things might've turned out differently/

  • This intro was crazy. Not from the original eps, but I like it.

  • Nice, I didn't know the X-Files had a spin off series. To bad it was cancelled.
