I realise that the simulation of attack should be done slowly to apply the technique but at the same time, in a real street situation when a person punches you their not going to telegraph their strikes like that which is going to make the throw more difficult to apply...if you don't know what your doing.

I think in "Seidokan" style they do call this maki-otoshi.
It looks different from what Aikikai callse maki-otoshi, that is correct.
