The family in this promotional film is driving a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500, so perhaps the film was made in late 1963 or early 1964?

We used to stay the Howard Johnson "motor lodge" high-rise in midtown Manhattan. The restaurant had a cocktail lounge with a decor that looked like something in a Rock Hudson/Doris Day movie. Funny, the guestrooms had the same layout and furnishings depicted in the above clip. whenever we visited NYC our family stayed there throughout the '60s and '70s.

Sorry no sound. The History Channel program with the HoJo clip (which I spliced togeter from segments throughout the show) was narrated over the original audio and does not even mention Howard Johnson's Motor Lodges. BTW, the one in the film looks to have been a Florida location based on the "sea coral" facade of the guest buildings.
