The new Platform 3a at Stratford station, east London, opened today (5 September 2010).

For the first time at this station, the doors of the Central Line trains open on both sides. This should mean a faster journey, and shows that the station's preparations for the 2012 Olympics are progressing well.

  • wow Stratford look really nice!

  • Just shows that they are thinking cleverly about stuff. Stratford tube station is right under the Stratford Westfield shopping centre which is also very close to the Olympic Stadium. All this means more people so more people on the tubes. All doors open means easier and quicker exit. I think the tubes have been an amazing development for London.

  • dam yall hardly got any space on those tube trains. our new CTA 5000 series trains in Chicago are way better than those.

  • I thought they where going to just use the new platform at Stratford (Cantrell Line) station but, when I went to London last they used both

  • @Arriva2010 Many trains terminate at Marble Arch. Most of the timetables for the trains are scheduled to terminate there!

  • now we have double the amount of door closing alarm screech
