@RandomGuyInAHat How to tell if you've ever lived in Pittsburgh: "Hey! Yinz catchin any catfish danere below da dam anat?" "Naw, nuttin but a coupla rock bass, coupla rock bass!" (Rock bass is the correct response, that is if you don't want folks invading your fisnin hole)

This aint Geddy Lee.

love the touch of primus to this already amazing song
-
@kadigan1979 I remember reading in that red Rush book from the late 80s that YYZ was the product of being under Weather Report's influence around that period.
-
they r doing a much better job then some I''ve heard sounds prety good to me takes me back to teen yrs.......

I am an ultimate rush fan and i can tell that sir Claypool rips in this song but rush cannot be compared to primus... so different... the bass is deeper, the bass picking is tighter and less natural, more of a mecanic pick... the drums.. Neil Peart is the absolute summum of drums no one can deny that, the guitar is not the same... but primus nailed YYZ like no other band ever did ! Les Claypool, nice bass passes really cool ! primus shot some really nice songs ! tommy the cat for example !

@fryBASS I know what you mean. I like Les and Ler, but they were quite sloppy compared to Herb.
-
i understand why generally they only play the intro now
-
aint bad that... hail the Geddster

I think Herb did the best job of sticking to the original.
Rock bass. That's what the fish is.

As good as Claypool is, I would love have heard Jaco take a crack at this.
