Here is my early Edison Amberola model 1A playing 4 minute Edison Blue Amberol cylinder, "He'd Push It Along" from 1914 by Edward Meeker. Meeker's relatively few (all comic genre) Edison cylinder recordings, particularly his Blue Amberols, did not sell well. His voice was obviously untrained and much better suited for spoken word recordings. But I have always enjoyed his recordings for that very reason. His was the voice of the common man singing. This is a very entertaining song about an Irish father of twins who faithfully (albeit reluctantly) pushes the family baby carriage. I hope you enjoy the Amberola and the cylinder. As always, thanks for stopping in for a visit.
