Panel discussion featuring James Panero, Jacob Collins, Vern Swanson and Alexey Steele. Moderated by artist Jeremy Lipking. Held on April 23rd at the Portrait Society of America's annual competition in Reston, Virginia.
I really enjoyed this whole talk. I think the term "contemporary" is quite abstract because even though it can easily be defined into "now", it depends on how you use it. I think both Alexey and Jacob were right, but I think in my opinion Jacob explained it well... Him as a Traditional Realist cannot (in some ways) consider himself as contemporary... but again it depends from which lens you see the word contemporary.
Thanks for sharing it with us, I hope to see more interesting talks.
