Beach Pollution in Venice and Marina del Rey

Video is poor quality and taken while running on the beach in Venice and Marina del Rey. The amount of trash that washes onto the shorelines in Marina del Rey and Venice is terrible. There was 5 times the trash the day before (day after the rain) and unfortunately that trashed went back out to sea.

I've been told the styrofoam and other debris comes from as far as Northridge and Reseda California in the San Fernando Valley. Trash left on streets and sidewalks enters storm drains and gets tossed into the Pacific ocean. Only a small amount floats back to the shorelines in Venice, Marina del Rey and Santa Monica.

Think about that next time you toss a bottle cap, soda cup, or cigerette out the window.
