This is the first part of Earth Dreaming, a 30 minute visual music piece first released in 1989 on VHS and LaserDisc, currently out of print.

Copy from the original LaserDisc release: From a primeval desert dreamscape, Georgianne Cowan's images merge with the sensuality of the female form. Rippling sand, rock crevasses, shamanic shadows, and rock paintings become the palette from which her evocative visuals emerge. Stirring ancient memories, this is a timeless mythological journey into the beauty, power, and renewing qualities of the Earth. From his acclaimed album Dreamtime Return, composer Steve Roach infuses this visual collage with a rarified musical score. Sonically extracting the essence from this sacred landscape, Roach's music permeates the subterranean imagination. Earth Dreaming's compelling blend of music and images invites repeated viewing to fully experience the subtlety of this inspired work.

  • Ethereal.

  • Keep breeding like cockroaches, and we will, sooner than you'll think.

  • @RKarma19 We are living in pure hell my friend and many of us don't know it.

  • If we can step off the destructive path that we are on now, the constant struggle to keep up with the economic treadmill that enslaves us, maybe there is hope for all humanity and the world in which we live. This music gives me hope that deep down inside us all is the recognition that we are creatures who always find real freedom.

  • I wish everyone could see these photographs and hear the music. Maybe then we would be more inclined to be better stewards of our planet.

  • @changtuber

So true. What the fuck are we doing?

Modern cities seem to disconnect us from the natural state of this world.

  • very beautiful steve, thank you for making this... : )

  • @jw22345 YES :) On a certain level we must all learn to be free of the mind's fences and constraints. But that doesn't mean that you still don't yearn for the beauty of the natural world, the one that birthed and nurtured our human race and all the countless lifeforms, who are our companions in this world. Of course we are as free as the wind, and we are also free to leave this destructive path that humanity has embarked on... Namaste to you :)

  • @changtuber Hahaha My friend you are only stuck in the city if you believe you are stuck in the city... Likewise, if you believe and know in your heart that innately you are as free as the wind that blows through your hair then that will become reality.

I am free from what some would call an unnatural prison, the superficial walls and doors around me... I am free from my body for my soul is beyond matter... I am free from my mind for my heart knows all.

    You are too.

    Namaste :)

  • many thanks for all your music.
