Listen to the Doctors speak about US Veterans and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Help get informed: Can Transcendental Meditation help veterans with post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, adn help make the lives of our soldiers more enjoyable?

Partial Video Transcript:

Norman Rosenthal:

Over half a million of our Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These are people who have been exposed to violence on the battle fields serving for our country. As one of my patients said, "it can happen once in your life, but one hundred times in your mind." The echoes linger on...

Sarina Grosswold:

With traumatic stress it is really some enormous stress that is more than the body can process. It leaves a big impression on the brain. The estimates are that at least 30% of returning veterans are experiencing PTSD, and really the estimates are that it is really much greater than that. I think that as many as 50% who are experiencing these symptoms are not actually even seeking help.

Norman Rosenthal:

They get bombarded on a daily basis by memories and flashbacks. It is a shocking statistic that 18 veterans everyday commit suicide.

Can Transcendental Meditation help veterans with post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, adn help make the lives of our soldiers more enjoyable?

  • Well, I think it is important to deal with the P and D words, but the real challenge is to deal with the T and S. (Sorry, I am a boneless pacifist.) It is like throwing the cat out of the window then take her to the hospital... PTSD is NOT an illness, it is suffering, which could have been prevented. "You lock the stable door after the horse is stolen." Ceterum censeo, I'm not going to buy anything on yt. Namaste

  • @Unbihexium Thank you for your comment it is well received. I think you and I are on the same page in terms of really striving for peace. Simultaneously, we are doing our best to help the countless people who have been traumatized already. I believe we must create peaceful people if we desire to see peace on a grander scale.

  • good video and great comment that we should use our inner healing rather than fill our bodies with toxicity.

  • @differentandalike Thank you for your comment.

  • thank you for not saying "hey, let's give em more drugs!" It's better for all of us to use our inner strength, inner imagination and our inner healing abilities than to fill our bodies with more toxicity
