Wendy Whelan and Tyler Angle (Principals, New York City Ballet) rehearse a new ballet by Christopher Wheeldon, set to "This Bitter Earth/On the Nature of Daylight" by Dinah Washington and Max Richter.

The ballet will debut on August 8, 2011 as part of an evening of world premieres at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Vail, Colorado. Other sections of the work feature Craig Hall (Soloist, New York City Ballet) and modern dance master Fang-Yi Sheu.

The Vail International Dance Festival is a project of the Vail Valley Foundation. Complete information, schedules and tickets can be found at www.vaildance.org.
