WAS THE QURAN WRITTEN BY MAN? LET US PONDER...

Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) was an illiterate man. This clearly indicates the Divine nature of the Glorious Quran that was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who had grown up as an orphan and who can neither read nor write. This Divine Book meets with the previous Divine Books in creeds and stories of Prophets. Almighty Allah challenged all people to try to create a chapter like it, but they could not, and will never be able to do so until the Day of Judgment.

And if you all are in doubt about what I have revealed to My servant, bring a single chapter like it, and call your witnesses besides God if you are truthful. (Quran 2:23)

"Do they not then meditate on the Quran? And if it were from any other than Allah, they would have found in it many a discrepancy." (04:82).

Almighty Allah says: (And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, FOR THEN MIGHT THOSE HAVE DOUBTED, who follow falsehood.) (Al-`Ankabut 29: 48)

The wisdom in his illiteracy as shown in the verses is to avoid the disbelievers accusing him of having copied or transformed the Quran from another human being or excerpted it from the previous books.

Allah says: "Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Nay, on the hearts there are locks." (47:24)

"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (Submission to Allah), Never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (their selves in the hell fire)."(Qur'an 3:85)

"Say, he is Allah the one and only. Allah the eternal. He neither gives birth nor is he born. And there is none like him."`(Qur'an 112:1-4)

The earth is not exactly immune from meteorite attacts otherwise we wouldn't have had the great cretatious catastrope that destroyed our friends the dinosaurs and we wouldn't have had the great permian catastrophe some millions of years before that. Science has proved that the earth is and has always been vunerable to catastrophes that have destroyed and will destroy billions of plant and animal life and there is no creator in sight to protect us.
