Model ESR-01B

This is a prototype model that is scaled for a number of tabletop battle games; such as Warhammer, Star Wars, Dogs of War, Lord of the Rings,...etc. It contains 2 stackable levels and a roof. The bottom floor has a kitchen/eating area, a den, a storage room, and an angled staircase going up the second level. The second level contains a bathroom, a bedroom, and two overlooking balconies, one toward the inside, and one toward the outside. In all, there are 5 hinged doors that are arched at the top, 5 arches, and 5 windows. The height of the ceilings are greater than 2-½ inches; this allows for a number of taller figures to remain in position as the levels are lifted on and off for gaming.

The model is fully assembled and painted; ready for play as is. The sides of the building are left blank (without windows) to allow for other units to be connected to it in a side-by-side fashion. (Look for other units from the same seller in the future.)

This house was constructed using a variety of balsa, fiber board (heavy cardboard), and hard stock paper materials. It is lightweight, and durable (exceeding a rating of 44 lbs/in on an edge crush test). As with all handcrafted gaming materials, it needs to be treated as a work of art and not a 'toy'. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding; although durable, the product needs to be handled gently. Weeks are put into constructing models like these.

  • Thanks for everyone's input. You guys are the best to get input from!

  • First let me say it takes a lot of guts to post your artwork (and it is art) and ask for feedback, well done! I'll jump right into it! Your building is very utilitarian, meaning miniatures can interact with the structure, but it's not very attractive or believable. I think you're on the right track though. I know it took a long time to build, perhaps some of that time should be dedicated to cosmetics, details, color, basing. Players want to feel like they're really in the game. Good Job!

  • @terrainapprentice thanks a lot for your comment

  • Got your message, i like the look of the house. We have a somewhat growing necromunda scene at out games-workshop, they might enjoy something like this, hopefully you can get it down to less than 30 hours to make them.

  • @WatchDragon thanks - we are working on getting the hours down - strangely nobody even wants to buy these on eBay atm even though the initial bids are $15 per cabin and $25 per 2 story house which is at a loss s it is.

    Thanks for your comment

  • Thanks for all comments - the outside is purposely plain so that everyone can custom decorate. Don't forget to enter the contest to win one of the cabins. O and go to eBay and buy that house someone!

  • hi you asked for my opinion so here it is...

    -good music

    -a good basic building

    -good interactive floors and doors

-missing some props. try: carpets, paintings, doorknops and red tiles on the roof

i recommend building a tavern next.....that would be so cool dont forget the hanging sign if you do :D

  • Hi Wandering Shrew, I posted a video response and was wondering if you knew anything about the hyperlinks in it. I know you did not put them there. How are they getting into the text? Do I have my settings messed up, or is it a virus or something? The links are totally unrelated and annoying. - Mark
