Knoxville high school students continue working on the first handicap-accessible home to be built by Marion County Habitat for Humanity. Stan Peterson is the instructor of the Knoxville High school construction trades class, which is building the future home for Arnold and Patricia St. Germain at the corner of Water and Montgomery Streets. He tells KNIA/KRLS News students learn about painting, concrete work, installing windows and other skills which they can use throughout their lifetime. Peterson, who is retiring this year after teaching 27 years in Knoxville, says students were sanding and texturing the home last week, with the finished home set to be completed later this year.
