@suzukirulez It was actually a marine 1000hp engine downrated to 500hp due to ridiculous fuel economy impact. It still drank fuel, especially if you had a heavy right boot. The newer straight six mack engines were the ones to go for though for reliability and economy, brilliant engines.

they were released in '90 with a choice of renault 380 or MACK 500 V8 with the mack V8 later going up as far as 560

Never made with a Mack v8.I've drivin' one for 4 years, and the only V8 was 560 HP,and it was a renault engine

renault magnum ae series is a masterpiece i think. and that v8 diesel noise sounds really good on this awesome truck ;)

Very nice,it's a pity they dropped the mack V8 from the line up top marks for lashing a mack V8 in a newr type Magnum!

a Mack E-9 Powered Renault Magnum :-)
Its job is not to look pretty, but to the haul loads across europe. They did an excellent job, because Renault Magnum has one of the best cab or even maybe the best. The floor is flat, and it's very spacious. In terms of living conditions this is possibly the best truck in Europe. And its style is debatable. Some people like it, some people don't. I do. But remember! This is a truck! Not a work of art.

Major part of truck drivers I know personaly prefer Volvo or Scania instead of renault... not for the space but for the way you drive it
