  • I bought the shell from Hadyn a while back, sadly the 8 porter had already been removed. Its sat in my workshop awaiting a rebuild after I finish rebuilding my Mini Minus.

  • I bought the Mini from Haydn a few years ago. Sadly he had already removed the 8 porter, just a shell sitting in my garage awaiting a rebuild. Will be done as soon as I have finished rebuilding my Mini Minus.

  • no he sold some years ago to some one :(

  • An 8 port head is a crossflow design where the intake ports are on the front and the exhaust ports on the rear. Each cylinder has its own intake and exhaust ports for a total of 8 ports. Can get better airflow this way, so more fuel/air can get into the cylinders so more power can be made.

  • The original cylinder head for the BMC A-Series engine had 5 ports. Two intake ports and three exhaust ports. Meaning the air/fuel mixture enters through one of two openings (ports). There is an intake port that serves cylinders 1 and 2 and another that serves cylinder 3/4. Cylinder 1 and 4 had their own exhaust port, while cylibders 2/3 shared an exhaust port. Thus a five port head.
