I remember the first time I saw this movie I was like 5 and thought duracell was an evil company that was turning humans into batteries. I made my mom by only energizer for years and she not understanding why complied. I eventually figured it out though. This was one case where hollywood product placement had the opposite desired effect.

It's not really about the science of it though, more about what that fictional and probably impossible technology is being used for in this film tells us about ourselves and our world. Just roll with it.

It's amazing how much this movie reflects the lives most people live in today's world. We are batteries, in the sense that many of us are slaves to corporations and the capitalist system. Most people spend their entire lives serving as "batteries" for the corporations and people in power who are exploiting them every day. Quite sad.
