A K Hangal recounts his days of 2 year jail term in Karachi, 1947-49. He was sentenced for 2 years for being a communist! He had a jail-mate, who was a chef in a hotel. Hangal says since they never had good food for ages they would ask the chef again and again how to make a cake and enjoy the description. Just thinking of a cake was exciting for them.
Later he talks about famous mates, like Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, the frontier Gandhi and his son, who studied at the Shantiniketan!
