Chariots of Fire - Vangelis (Live in Athens - Greece)

In the Panathenean Stadium, Athens 90,000 spectator, ancient all-marble stadium, Vangelis performs his creation Chariots of Fire from the Oscar winning movie soundtrack.
The performance was part of the Opening Ceremony of the 6th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 1997 in Athens.
The concept of the ceremony, the direction, the artistic and musical supervision was solely by Vangelis Papathanasiou.

Στο Παναθηναϊκό στάδιο, το αρχαίο καλλιμάρμαρο στάδιο της Αθήνας, ο Βαγγέλης Παπαθανασίου ερμηνεύει τη δημιουργία του Chariots of Fire από την μουσική επένδυση της ομώνυμης ταινίας.
Η ερμηνεία ήταν μέρος της τελετής έναρξης του 6ου Παγκοσμίου Πρωταθλήματος Ανοικτού Στίβου της IAAF, το 1997 στην Αθήνα.
Η έμπνευση, σκηνοθεσία, καλλιτεχνική και μουσική επιμέλεια ήταν του Βαγγέλη Παπαθανασίου.

@theo9952 Φυσικα και είναι φίλε μου. Τα μάρμαρά του είχαν κλαπεί (!) και απλά αναπαλαιώθηκε η καλύτερα αναμαρμαρώθηκε. Η σύγχρονη αναμαρμάρωση του ολοκληρώθηκε το 1900.
