  • The Ainu came from Russia origially. Why on earth are you rambling on about African culture and aboriginies and so on. What's that got to do with the Ainu? They're all tribes that lived in a country that was taken over by other people - noone's trying to "water that down here". I think you completely misunderstood what microdot said. Anyways, I'm deleting it if you post dumb stuff like that here again!

  • @tanpopo03 Where do you get the info that they originate from Russia?

  • @SecretQT1 Sorry, maybe that was a bit unclear. I meant that they came to (what today is Japan) via Sachalin (which now belongs to Russia). They are not related to the Japanese who came to the island via migration from Korea/China or South-East Asia.

Well... those are the prevalent theories. Definite proof of where theJapanese came from is hard because the language is so isolated. I'm not overly familiar with the Ainu language, but I believe there's a similar problem.

  • Ok, listen 0redeem, the only reason I'm not deleting all your nuttcase comments is to show other people out there how dumb you are. Ainu literally means "people"! Microdot is quite right in saying that their culture as certain points that link them to Siberian tribes.

  • I'm Japanese with a clear-cut face and that's why sometimes cheated Ainu-jin, but I don't know where ancestors come from and think we are all Japanese. That instrument is similar to Siberian and Hokkaido had a lot of great Sumo wrestlers. Also I'm 187cm. But I don't think we link with caucasian. There are many people taller than me in Tokyo and Mongolian also have that kind of instrument. MIX, it is Japan.

  • Gasp! I thought that they made that sound with sfx on the computer. the sfx for "boing" sounds! O.o

  • It would make sense seeing as the Ainu have a genetic link with the Andamese people as well as Tiber, all being Haplogroup D.

  • I heard the Kennewick man from Washington state was more related to the Ainu people than to the present day Native Americans

  • Ainu people look very beautiful.

  • Hello. I really want to learn more about the Ainu culture also. I'm Japanese, but they are my ancestors, although I don't really know a lot about them.
