Velvet ant or better known as cow killers crawling around in a tank. Beautiful specimens that will sting the hell out of you! These are actually wasps without wings.

sorry but the males do have wings the females dont and yes you can kill them very easy you take a good can of bug spray to them i had a yard full of them last year i tryed every thing and finely got out my trusty bug spray out and it worked

these things are all over the place where i live. in the summer, i cant go maybe a week without seeing at least ten.

i caught one with wings thinking it was a big fire ants' queen and all of the real big fire ants i had jumped it and killed it. turms out that "winged queen" was a victim of my beastass ants
