Sierra is now 4 yrs old and has Rett Syndrome. Thats her twin brother in the picture. They started out developmentally at the same level but the gap started growing between them. Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes severe regression and loss of gross and fine motor skills, speech, and causes a host of medical problems like seizures, scoliosis, reflux, and GI problems. It is often misdiagnosed as CP or autism. There is no cure.

  • Rett's syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder, usually characterised by development of multiple deficits after a period of normal development. It can cause a lot of problems with movement and motor skills, and also with language development. The video description explains what Rett's is, too.
