5:45 PM, May 22, 2011 - This is a view looking east from a house between 29th and 30th streets on South Brownell Avenue in Joplin, about four blocks south of the path of the tornado at this time. I think the tornado is still to the southwest of me as this is recorded. the wind is blowing from the south at this point, indicating, I think, the leading edge of something rotating counterclockwise. At 5:57 my Mom phoned me from 15th st and Range Line Wal-Mart, where she had been trapped in the destruction of the store; she is fine now.

The tornado was over a 1 km wide so the RFD ( rear flank downdraft) would have been just as strong from what I can see. Looks like the tornado was not to far away ... Glad you were safe. Thanks for posting video as part of my research.

@613Pesach Hey, I can get you a GPS point when I'm back there in a few days if you like. I would have thought this was an inflow moving toward the bottom of the tornado.

Thank god you were all right, and I saw the walmart, she is one lucky woman
