I remember watching this when I was growing up. What happened to these good old shows. Kids would be so different today with these values.

You may be confusing "white" with Jewish--it's a common perceptual error.

I have no idea what you're talking about. It's conscious racism on the part of white industry. Real estate is more militant in refusing properties, rental or owned, than any individuals, and the only store in Manhattan to hire black people on the floor are Bergdorf Goodman and Macy's.

On your second paragraph: the militant ones ruined it for the rest of them. Commercial activities require SOME focused, dignified and professional attention to customer and client service. People have the right to hire someone without worrying about getting sued by them over militant personal and extended social agendas.

She's still gorgeous, and one of the most talented performers there were. It was sickening though, how the network was so self-congratulatory, but she has so much class that it was just great to see her on her own show.

Segregation in New York City is worse now than it was then. You don't see black girls working in white doctor's offices, nor anywhere else in Manhattan except fast food places. The fashion industry, magazines, publishing, it's all white again, 50 years later.

Watched this in syndication in the 80's as a white kid in Atlanta. I wanted Julia to be my Mommy. Not that I didn't love my Mommy, but I loved Julia too.
