  • is this suppose to be played this fast?

  • you can play it in any speed you like, that's the spirit of music ( i think ) : personal expression ;)

  • Hi, I find it so helpful to follow along with your videos as I'm working now through Alfred's #1 -- but I think the labels are mixed up between "Standing in the Need of Prayer" and the one marked as such is another song - is it "The Gift to be Simple"?

No matter, I'll figure it out eventually! (this is just to keep us on our toes, right?)

  • ^^ hahhaa, yes i mixed up these two songs' names, i had just swap them back over, thanks!

  • Go back and read page 33. Once a note is sharped, it's sharp for the rest of the measure. He played it right. Time to repeat 5th grade, I guess. :)

  • hey,do you need to play this fast!??

    because i play it slowly..

  • very nice!!! but there are diminuendo and Crescendo's in the song, maybe your mic didn't pick them up, but you should watch out for those, it gives it a new flavor

  • thanx i needed this to play in my piano class

  • @siglosgab i had a question isnt the black key pressed only 4 times in this song ?? cos i;m learning this song right now

and i see u pressing it over and over but isnt it 2x black 3x normal and than the next part 2x black 3 x normal

so its more E gies e gies ededed ??

  • i have the same book...what do you think will i be able to accomplish when i'm through all 3 of them?

  • sorry. I didn't mean to sound harsh. mainly I'm just trying to play devil's advocate w/ my comment below.

  • sure you can play it any speed you like. it's all part of the self expression. however this is a BEGINNER book/course, and I feel that one should exercise a little restraint and be careful not to play it too fast. it is easy to play fast once you know a song, but harder to play slow correctly and with exactness. wouldn't it benefit you more to master that first then think about self expression? the world is full of people trying to express themselves while having no expertise.

  • I am on that lesson in the book this week and it says you are supposed to have your left hand thumb on c at the beginning and then move your hands.

  • doesn't it say your left thumb has to be on C? I wasn't sure how that would work, since the right hand would also use that C, so i came here, and you played it differently?

  • No it isn't suppose to be played that fast. it's supposed to be played rhythmicly but everyone has their own oppinion and it's very easy to go this fast
