This is a video I have compiled as part of a presentation on Virginia Woolf's "Between The Acts". I thought it would be important to know the background to Virginia (as much as I could fit into the length of a song at least) in order to really understand "Between The Acts" because it was her last novel. Apologies that this video is a little fast and you may have to pause it to get the annotations, i've tried to edit the video but for some reason it wont work. Short of doing the whole video again and uploading it - I may do that though. Thanks. Alanna

The song in the background is by Glasgow singer-songwriter Colette McKendrick and is called 'Candytuft' from her album called 'Etheria' which is available on iTunes.

  • Beautiful song! Do you have more of Colette McKendrick?

  • @TheNightSchaf Colette changed her name and now goes under the name Penny Black. Her music is really wonderful and she's lovely as well.

look on her FB page. /Penny-Black/296110816080

  • I agree, trying to fit all of the info and photos into the length of one song made the video (while awesome) unwatchable in a anyway other than to pause it 20+ times, at which point whatever emotion helped along by the song is replaced with frustration. Thank you for adding though, the info and photos were very interesting!!

  • Well..., you asked for input, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Really the only suggestion I have is that you re-edit the piece and allow more time on the 'copy', there's not enough time to read and so I had to keep stopping and starting and backing up. I realize all people don't read at the same speed but...., allow more time.

  • @Pet123home Who was your grandmother's parents?

  • Loved your video but the photos go by too quickly we don't have enough time to read them !!

Otherwise I really loved your video the photos are great

  • A fine rendering, but you need to check your spelling.
