What a day this was! We started the day off in Enid, OK where we all got together and decided on two tentative targets for the day. One in southeastern, KS and the other in southeastern, OK. We decided that the best play would be to head south towards the southeasten OK target so we did just that. On the way we stopped off at Rocky Rascovich's house in Piedmont, OK (just northwest of OKC) to say hi to some fellow chasers. Rocky hosts the annual StormTrack picnic and we figured we could grab some food, meet some friends and keep an eye on the evolving environment. At around 5:30 we saw towers going up to our south near the Ada, OK area so we headed on out. There were two supercells that had gone up and we were hearing reports of tornadoes reported on the southern storm. We were worried that we were too far behind the 8 ball on this day. But, after about a two hour drive we arrived on the northern cell which by this time was looking much better organized and as luck would have it, we were able to get into perfect position to view what was an amazing tornado right around sunset! Southeastern Oklahoma is known for it's poor visibility due to thick tree coverage, and the Ada, OK area is no exception. But this tornado planted itself right in between the line of trees directly over the road, so we had a clear shot at it for it's entire life cycle. Thankfully this tornado touched down on the west side of town and as I write this, I have not heard of any injuries or serious damage. If this ends up being the case that it was truly a perfect chase day. Hope you enjoy the video!

  • This was a great storm video. I know it is not funny, but a lot of the "Oklahoma" videos are tornado vids. I was born in Ada and visit OK every now and then and 3 times while there, my family and I had to head for the cellars!! Madill had a tornado scare I believe in May of 2011 and I think on the same day!!

  • @bustacapinlutha Ada, and Oklahoma in general certainly sees it's fair share of severe weather and tornadoes that's for sure! Sounds like you have a knack of picking the right time to head back there lol. Glad nothing bad happened any of those times. Thanks so much for watching

  • People in that car take off and peal out trying to outrun that thing...Dumb.

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o Actually that guy feared for his families safety who at the time thought was in the path of the tornado. He had a newborn son in his house so he wasn't thinking straight. Thankfully this tornado didn't hit any homes from what I heard. Thanks for watching
