In this edition of On the Edge, Max Keiser interviews Gerald Celente from TrendsReaserch.com. He talks about how IMF does business. They go to desperate countries and lend them money and as for repayment they tell the host country to tax their people. Later they demand more money so they go after public properties and services (Bridges, Highways, Water Supply ...) of that country.

Destroying the current private central bank model is a good thing but will not solve more fundamental problems.

The people of Iceland were able to kick out the bankers because they are a small close knit community that care about one another. Even the wealthy in that society realized they will have to lose standing and their wealth. It comes back to greed. People will stay attached to the current system because they think they have something to lose. No hope for the USA.

  • Christine Lagarde Is Jewish , Dominique Strauss Kahn was Jewish as well & the interim leader of the IMF that took over as caretaker whilst a decision was being taken on who would replace Dominique Strauss Kahn is John Lipsky ...John Lipsky ...you guessed it... is Jewish.

  • public banks any better?

  • direct democracy is the wolf and the fox and the sheep voting who's for dinner

  • It works in Switzerland and Iceland because they are homogeneous societies.

Wrecking the nation-state was part of the plan with the massive immigration in Eurpe and the "dumbing down" of the school's (the USA, note: NCLB is a failure)

  • Its like when De Niro and Pacino first meet in "Heat".

  • Gerald Celente is advocating "direct democracy" now... which is essentially *participatory democracy* -- i.e.: what the communists/socialists/anarchists have more-or-less been advocating for nigh-on 150 years+ now. And we ARE going to have workers' power, by hook or by crook -- no matter what the financial capitalist oligarchy throws at us. Except perhaps thermo-nuclear missiles.

  • Let the people vote? WTF is Gerald talking about? If the people themselves are thieves--i.e., the majority supports "taxing the rich" to "level the playing field", etc., etc., how will that solve the problem of thievery? Gerald is talking about the "international mafia federation"--a den of thieves--to be solved by the majority who are themselves thieves--not consciously, of course, but thieves nonetheless. Makes me sad to think that Gerald thinks the force of majority will solve this. :(

  • Another Jew for the head of the IMF? That goes for the FED, E.U. Central Bank etc etc. All this for 0.01% of the World's Population, oh yea keep denying the Protocols as a forgery supposedly written by a Russian police officer in the 19th century. Jews are the scourge of the earth.

  • @Achilles1389 You got it right! They are the Illuminati, the hidden hand of history. Few will actually speak the truth. Got to also say that putting money into gold or silver, which I support, but it does nothing to extinguish the money or the system.

Also they control the East as well, not just the West.

  • libya=waco level intervention skills=bloodbath x 1,000,000

  • As far as true democracy goes, it would be fairly easy to implement, however it isn't in an established government's best interest to institute since it would remove their vehicle for power and wealth. I agree with harveybirdmannequin. No hope for the USA.

  • International Mother F...ers

  • The IMF = "shake-down artists" Gangsters to you and me! So why are the Irish Government doing business with these mafia well because there are gangsters themselves .We the people of Ireland should take a leaf out of the fighting Icelanders book and get back our Celtic heritage and fight these crooks .this is not our problem it’s the problem of the bondholders who gambled on toxic banks.I say let them have these toxic banks and bring the traitors in the Dail to justice !

Very true; and good point! - A republic can mean several things. However in the context I'm using the term, it means codified democracy; i.e., core concerns of which the populous (overwhelmingly) agree should be handled a certain way. It would be inefficient to continuously vote on such issues, for it would be merely an exercise in rubber stamping.

Of course, constitutions and other state codifications are merely theoretical concepts, but I digress.

  • @FranG1214 Iran and North Korea are republics.

  • Love THESE GUYS !!

  • I.M.F. = International Mafia Federation.

The third world is the biggest victim of the IMF.

  • @FranG1214 no you dont but in a democracy people all get an equal vote on issues. for example the elected representative would bash out a new law in their parliament/senate etc and then the people would then go online and vote yes or no to the law...i doesnt mean that their would be anarchy as i consider 90% of people to be quite moderate and reasonable...its the other 10% that want anarchy(whether they are fascists or stalinists, both lead to anarchy)

  • What did Joe Biden do for the banksters?

  • @Taidgh17

"if the people want anarchy they can vote for it"

I don't really need to tell you what's wrong with this statement, do I?

  • @FranG1214 very true however i would have to say that a direct(online) democracy would be the truest form of democracy..if the people want anarchy they can vote for it, but people arent stupid..putting the power in their hands will make them stop listening to criminal politicians and listen to themselves

  • @FranG1214

Democracy works when everyone votes the same way.

  • Celente is really pushing this "Let the People Vote" mantra. I'd just like to point out that "direct democracy" is a step in between anarchy and a republic. A republic is best and most efficient, but only works when you have honest politicians, and a vigilante populous. A "direct democracy" is less efficient and more unstable, but can work if you have a morally chaste people. When it works, it ultimately turns into a republic, if not, if devolves into anarchy, where its every man for himself.
