i like that cartoon-ish look of that game. those black outlines of the terrain etc. :)

Well:
Microsoft XNA, C#, 3DS Max, Baked self occlusion, Pixel Shaders: Phong Lighting, Depth Bias; Post Processing: Bloom, Edge Detection; Collision binning, Sprites, etc.

if you win the contest does the gane get bought by say sony/microsoft then you make alot of cash

Well,
1. I didn't actually end up entering this in the final contest. See, I actually won the 'warm-up' contest but was ineligible to receive any prize (I have a brother at Microsoft), but I did get a job out of it.
2. The contest is over for this year.
3. Games that win don't automatically get bought out for Xbox Live Arcade, but I'm sure it's a huge head start if that's where the creator wants to take it.
