For all "low carbon footprint people". Fine, get rid of all plastic within your domiciles, and vehicles. PLASTIC (not gasoline) is the main use for oil consumption. The various Esters etc., comprising Gasoline are but a fraction of crude oil.

Itsaduck, don't feel bad. I laugh my keaster off at the "Big Oil" comments. It would not surprise me at all if "Big Oil", etc., isn't actually BEHIND all this.

Some may have eyebrows raising at this point, so I will explain.

With 'Cap and Trade', Big Oil makes a ton of money, NOT loses it. It removes pollution controls by the EPA as well, as ALL 'Big Oil' has to do is buy more carbon credits, then they are within the law....

That doesn't even include what they make off of carbon trade.

TALK ABOUT HYPOCRITES, I am MIDDLE TO EXTREME RIGHT and for alternative sources of energy but my state the Social Socialist Republic of Kalifornication, a communist satelite, will not support alternative energy production. We the people add solar cells and wind generator to out properties and the state will not allow the power companies to buy the extra energy we send into the power lines so we desgn them to only provide enough for our use.

Men and women have driven around the country to demomize oil and yet the way they transport themselves is via that oil, now more costly because we have to import it here in the USA rather than pump it straight from under us.

Yeah, I was in extremely hot Twentynine Palms, California, USA last year at this time and it snowed. Blocked the road to Palm Springs, California..............But regardless the world is not worried enough about this leftist driven science to do anything on a international basis. It would be good for us to develop alternatives to Oil.

mckennaclan, Obviously the only solution is to cut down on use! The Green Patriots should commit suicide in mass. This would save the planet. Another less radical solution would be for all of them to vote with THEIR behavior by discontinuing use of all fossil fuels and buy gasX for their own emissions. it is shameful how their leadership flies around in empty private jets and sit in the back empty stretch limos. SHOW US THE WAY....because copenhagen was pollution creating nightmare.
