  • Und das tenorale Gegenstück?

    Zweifellos die Aufnahme mit dem deutschen Tenor Peter A n d e r s und seinem Klavierpartner Michael R a u c h e i s e n ,der ebenfalls viel mit Elisabeth Schwarzkopf gearbeitet hat.

  • @DurchMitleidWissend ER ,,, NO

  • It's good, but I'm not sure that this is the best song for her voice.

  • @schlusnus i agree with you. she has such an intimate sound.

  • Personally, I think E. S. was the finest soprano the world has known. I had the pleasure and honour of seeing her 'live' at London's Queen Elisabeth Hall, Southbank, in the 19 80's. She was the only soprano that I have ever heard that could match the power and sweetness of the finest tenor, ever, Richard Tauber.

  • Thank you:

What fine taste..the next step is the late quartets!!

  • really beautiful song

  • Dear Friends.

I believe Schwartzkopf was more a leider voice than opera.

This is contraversal , but please please listen to her tutor

the leider voice bar none Eliz Schumann, you will never regret it.

  • Eliz: Sch: was taught by the finest lieder soprano todate

Eliz: Schumann. Great voices of the past. I cannot find her

    recording on Tube.

Please listen to "Der Rosenkavalier" L. Lehmann, R.Mayr

    recd: 1933.... breathtaking.

  • I knew that. (:-D) But as one of the very greatest composers of lieder, I think Schubert would have been thrilled at Schwarzkopf's performance here.
