In this video, Barry Ellen, a severe developmentally delayed young girl (about thirteen or fourteen in this video) is stimulated to strengthen her hip flexors and extensors, and by working her prelearned movement patterns, Dr. Gootzeit teaches her to stand and walk independently. The patterns are repeated in two other videos, of Lloyd and Eamon; Lloyd was worked with for over thirty years, Aemon, for two to four, and Barry Ellen for two to four. The patterned learning was the same, the end product was children and adults who could move independently.
I am glad you appreciated the short film, what my dad was about though, if you watch all the films, was teaching other people, how to do the work. This enabled these children to receive the hours and years of work they needed to improve, and ultimately walk, and communicate more normally.

My dad was a lot of stuff, he was a WW II vet, who was in a VA Hospital for a year with a brain injury, his insight as a Physical Therapist came to him during his own rehabilitation. His training was at NYU, he also had a PHD in psycology. He was an amazing person, growing up in his house was a gift.
