[Passaros do Norte (Arco Iris)] Maybe to keep their chins warm, but the 'balling-up' performed by these Mallards, even sometimes as they are standing in running water, resembles the 'frozen-in-place' state captured by Seahue's 'Morning Thaw' birds: Thus a tribute to them and to Seahue's discernment of this behavior trait, as, although it may be said, "Well they, too, have to sleep sometime," it is yet more helpful to me to realize the difficulty of spotting them on account of such tendency, or capability for, 'stillness'.

  • Thanks for accepting the response, Seahue. And you have inspired in me much interest otherwise left dormant --previously left in need of a 'thaw'!

  • Wow! Simply beautiful...I never thought my vid would turn into a double feature! Morning thaw and Mid afternoon thaw are a perfect match...Now all we need is the evening freeze (my dream is to film birds at night in their nests) and we have a perfect trilogy:D I also loved the music...especially in the beginning the percussion sounded like water...Thank you Bakanz for sharing:D
