Wow Huge fan of Mr. Fields. I am a fan from the wrong generation, just a few decades late.
He's a classic american treasure

I also love the way the dog sniffs that 20 dollar bill with intent. Love that doggie.

He's the only comedian I know of that you need a dictionary to laugh with him!

Dear cqsallie,
I trust I'm spelling that right. Thank you for the lovely acknowledge to my grandfather. To answer the second half of your question, I have written several screenplays (following in my father's, Stuart Jerome's footsteps) and am currently doing a full-length play called "Soul-Mates", based on the lives and relationship of 1940's actors William Eythe and Lon McCallister, and yes, I have a room -- and an apt. of my own here in L.A.
Thanks once again. R.J.

In the classic 1936 flick Poppy, W.C.Fields does his best with the little dog who occaisionally speaks. What a classic get it on DVD.

Isn't that a great story, though? I met Irving Fein, along with his wife and son, several-years ago at The Farmers Market, here in L.A. It turned-out, that Warner Bros. brought Mr. Fein out-here in 1938, and he told me one of his first-friends at the studio was my grandfather! (Songwriter M.K. Jerome). I would never have known this if Irving hadn't told me that himself! By the way, another songwriter, Leo Robin who worked on "Poppy", lived in the same-condo as my grandfather in Westwood! R.J.
Your generosity overwhelms may. Thanks Guys.
