CINEMA 4D Studio Release 13 is sure to revolutionize your character animation workflow. The new Character Object allows you to quickly rig characters based on pre-built templates. CMotion generates procedural animation, based on the relationship between objects and individual cyclic actions that can be customized via a spline graph.

An all-new Muscles system allows you to pin muscle objects to multiple joints or objects, and deform the mesh as the distance between the objects changes. The Visual Selector has been completely redesigned, and now allows multiple tabbed views within a single tag.

  • @aaronv2photography Yes, the c4dcafe website has an R13 tutorial 'Introduction to Character Builder' with a spider :)

  • @MaxonC4D hi I am using C4d for a while now but I'm new to rigging and animating human like characters so I thought I'd make a one legged\eyed creature but I can't seem to get a good rig for a creature that just has a leg a head (eye) but no spline (the leg is in addition to his head the only component of its body) hope you guys could help me out

    when i go into the character tab to look for the character tool, I don't have it. It simply skips from the constraints to the joint tool. Please respond as i really need this.

  • The interesting things to know for us game artists and Unity users:

    1. Is the user able to define his own rig presets with the rigging tools that can be adapted to other meshes, afterwards?

    2. are the standard presets in any way scaleable in their complexity so that we can use a simpler version for game engine animation?

    I'm asuming that the rendering animation rigs are way more complex than needed for games.

    3.Aaaand: Can animations be exported to Unity engine without baking bones first?
