The 2000 olympics is a mess, the vault controversy, raducan get stripped of gold medal, underage chinese gymnasts, and wonky floor that made so many gymnasts fell out of bounds? worst olympics ever.

The substance is back on the banned list again. What really matters is really is rules at that time, IOC could have been imposed the rules that they do now. Athletes that test positive will lose all medals won at that particular games. She is also lucky to keep medals won after the event finals, vents held after she tested positive.

It is not completely false. Substances are added and removed. That is a fact. Furthermore, HER body is HER responsibility. What don't you understand about this? That's the way it is, that's the way it has always been, and that's the way it will always be. It is a very clear cut case, which is why she was stripped of her medal and her appeal was outright dismissed. You can't claim someone else did it, it wasn't you, when it's YOUR body. Raducan is forever shamed.

@berlintreaty That is completely false. Substances are definitely being added, but extremely few are being removed. The doctor gave her cold medicine. She didn't know what was in it. Why do you think she didn't deserve it if the substance made no difference whatsoever. And don't bring up steroids. They have nothing to do with it.

Substances are always being added and removed from the list. And it absolutely was her fault she took it. She is responsible for everything she puts in her body. If her team doctor injected her with steroids, it would be her responsibility, too. The athlete, no matter their age, is always responsible for any doping, which is why her medal was stripped and her appeal was unanimously denied.

Because it was banned at the time. Who cares what the rules are now? She broke the rules that were in place then. Cheating bitch got what she had coming.
