AMP Rider by Ariens, an all-electric riding lawn mower, which delivers as much drive and cutting power as a conventional gas-powered riding mower without the emissions, oil, belts or noise associated with gasoline-powered mowers.
The AMPTM Rider was designed to meet a growing market need for all-electric riding mowers that can match the power, cutting precision and reliability of gas-powered riding mowers offered by Ariens.
Ariens is the first company to offer a riding electric mower in conjunction with a mass channel retail chain and through a wide and proven dealer network across the U.S. AMP Rider sells for an MSRP of $3,299, the lowest priced all-electric riding lawn mower on the market.
GE made and sold one in the late 60's and early 70's that from what I can find out was a great product and would mow an acre.
I admire the effort to produce an electric riding mower and I am sure since it is an Ariens it will be a find product.
I will check it out.

Just like any other batteries, I'd be concerned about their life expectancy and replacement costs. Chances are, these are also smaller than car batteries.
Once someone finally makes a long lasting durable battery, all of these will be worth the cost.......if it doesn't get stolen. GPS wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Not too long ago, there were advertisements for a more efficient electric motor.
The electric non riding motors are said to have short lived batteries and not worth the cost

I don't know about a motor and two batteries powering it, but it sure is Ariens and they make great products. Also, I like that they went back to the rear engine style look.
