In this video preview, instructor Addie Kidd outlines the techniques you'll learn in the Bezel Making and Setting class. You'll learn how to measure your stone; cut, form, and solder the bezel wire; shape it to your cabochon; adjust the size; solder it to the backplate; adjust the bezel to the proper height; use a bezel pusher and a burnisher to secure the stone in place; and anneal metal. This process requires that you have basic metalsmithing skills and that you can safely and skillfully operate a torch.
