I am an Indian fan but Sir. Hadlee is a great pace bowler. Best bowling action, in my opinion. Classic, smooth and elegant.

I remember watching this as a proud Kiwi school kid back in Wellington, well deserved along with recent the recent ICC Hall of Fame induction Sir Richard.

Procter was rated by many to be a top-notch player. His first-class record (county was really competitive those days) is beyond awesome. All international players of the 70s faced him and they reckon he was in the league of Botham and Imran as all-rounders. I mean ahead of Kapil and Hadlee but slightly behind Sir Gary.

I never saw him but have read a lot about him. Who knows what they could have achieved in Tests had G. Pollock, Barry Richards or Procter not been undone by fate?

I think you could argue he was the best. Beautiful action and follow through.

I never saw enough of Procter to comment. From what I know mate his career was screwed by injury.

I think Kapil, Imran and Botham could bat at any position, not just lower down the order. Hadlee, although an explosive batsman, had his technical shortcomings.Come to think of it, a great all-rounder just played 7 tests due to non-cricketing reasons or could have been rubbing shoulders with the best of them - Mike Procter!

Interesting selection there. Marshall could be extremely loose at times though lethal. I though Holding and Garner were technically better bowlers. I like your inclusion of Imran wonderful bowler. I think that you can't beat the great all rounders of the 80's.

    1) Hadlee

    2) Botham

    3) Khan

    4) Dev

    5) ?

Where these guys were so good was that they could also bat down the order. I think Lillee, McGrath and Ambrose while awesome kinda straight jacket a team strategically.
