@steviep2 FREAKING AWESOME! I made 10 pounds of beef ones after these venison ones. I shot another deer yesterday and I think I will have about 20 pounds of deer sticks this weekend!

@cgm0826 Munchy Much.!..?.? They came out GREAT! I even smoked some with some Cherry Wood and you could taste the cherry flavor in the first two bites! It's like a hint of cherry chap stick at first. I now have a propane smoker that I have fit 20 pound at a time in it. I will post a video using the new smoker soon cuz My 8 year old Daughter shot her first deer three weeks ago, during the late season youth hunt, here in Texas. Peace V....

@cgm0 Thanks! I grew up in SF and my Dad never took me hunting either. I didnt go hunting for the first time till I was 23. I took my first doe in Humbolt County CA and have been running around in the woods gathering raw ingredient's ever since. I hunt what I like to eat and have come up with a recipe that makes things taste great so far. I just got some bear meat from a friend last week and will try my hand at that soon. Wish me luck! I hope you get a deer next season! I know its tough in CA!

Ifyou soak those casings in cold water they are much easier to work with I have found

@husick204 Thanks for the information. These are LEM collagen castings and it says not to soak them before using them. I noticed once stuffed the moisture from the meat makes them softer and they seem to tear/pop a lot easier. So far I have not had an issue but if I do I might have to try the soaking method.
